The Mixed Methods International Research Association (MMIRA) takes great pleasure in inviting you to participate in the 2019 regional conference which will be held at Massey University, Wellington Wed 4 – Fri 6 December 2019.  There will also be a range of workshops conducted by internationally acclaimed experts in the field of Mixed Methods research and Spotlight and Mentoring sessions.

The full range of paper presentations include the following;

  • Paper presentations – 15 mins
  • Poster presentations including a rapid fire poster presentation of 5 mins (up to 2  x ppt slides)
  • Round table discussions.  These are interactive with a view of sharing knowledge about an area of expertise or program of research. They are an excellent means for getting targeted feedback, engaging in in-depth discussion and meeting colleagues with similar interests. Round table sessions will be allocated 30 minutes, the format will be a 10 minute presentation of the topic (with no audio-visual aids) followed by 20 minutes in-depth discussion with attendees. We welcome submissions by individuals and research teams.

The conference will attract delegates from across a range of disciplines, with varied interests. Presenters are advised, therefore, to focus especially on the methodological components of their work, showing how the mixed methods approach taken contributed to generating outcomes from their study, rather than on details of the topic of their study.

Papers are optional

The MMIRA 2019 Regional Conference will include the following interdisciplinary themes;

  • Integrating methods across conceptual and methodological boundaries
  • Mixed methods across cultures
  • Addressing social complexity and wicked problems
  • Migration of people within and across the Australasia & Pacific region
